Member Benefits

Our meetings and continuing education are available to members and non-members alike.  However, there are many benefits to joining the National Association of Enrolled Agents.

Advocacy

NAEA has a prominent seat at the table with senior IRS decision makers and has frequent communication with IRS that produces results.  NAEA gives member testimonies before the House and Senate on issues that make a difference in your practice.

A Legal Defense Fund was created to assist with the legal expenses required to defend the rights of enrolled agents on the national, state and local levels. NAEA PAC (a bipartisan political action committee), a significant grassroots force helps elect public officials that understand and share the priorities of enrolled agents.

Continuing Education

NAEA earned its reputation for educational excellence with the National Tax Practice Institute™ (NTPI®) where top tax professionals gain the knowledge and confidence to represent their clients before the IRS.  NAEA re-energized the National Conference and expanded NTPI to include a robust Tax Prep/Practice Management track presenting cutting-edge tax prep expertise and valuable information on how to grow your practice and an intensive Special Enrollment Exam Review track for experienced tax preparers who have decided the time is right to rise to the premium level and become an EA.  Attendees of the NAEA National Conference can earn up to 24 CE credits or can watch recorded National Conference sessions online to earn their CE credits.

NAEA members can choose EA Journal Home CE.  In-depth articles surrounding high-profile tax topics in NAEA’s bimonthly magazine, with up to four CE credits available per issue by passing the included or online test.  Members can fulfill their Ethics requirement by passing the CE test in the May/June issue of EA Journal.

Public Awareness

Spreading the word that EAs are the tax professionals of choice—communicating the value that enrolled agents bring to clients and potential clients through print, radio and television is a primary association goal.

Practice Management Resources

NAEA helps you build your business by supporting you with resources, promotion, information and clients.  NAEA offers a tax research service that’s convenient and easy to use.  The service answers your toughest tax questions and offers written guidance in conversational language that you can share directly with your clients.

lIn addition to the bimonthly magazine EA Journal, the weekly e-newsletter E@lert brings members relevant and timely news on tax topics, laws and association news that impact the EA profession.  The NAEA website offers a wealth of information and resources including the “Members Only” section.
